J.I. Stebbings-Artist

I'm a New Zealand artist born in Motueka. Kaiteriteri and Stephen's Bay in the beautiful Tasman Bay area is where I first grew up.  I have been painting and drawing from my first memory.

My adult working life has been predominantly as a Graphic Artist and I spent about 15 of those years living and working in the UK.

Coming back  home to NZ in 2014, I'm now enjoying  my geographical and artistic roots.

Although I specialise in oil Painting, I sometimes dabble with watercolour, pencil, and pen with wash. I have no particular preferred subject. Landscapes, architecture, animals, portraits, seascapes and still life can all be found in my gallery.

I love drama and definition so tend to paint with high contrast and colour saturation which give my traditional subjects a modern feel.

My galleries contain both my current works in New Zealand and some from my time in the UK.
